This week I found out that my piece "Rock near Twin Tanks" was picked out of 120 artists as one of 63 finalists for the Joshua Tree National Park Annual Art contest! It was inspired by a hike my son took us on to see "the Iguana" and Twin Tanks area earlier this spring. With the wildflowers in bloom and gorgeous weather, it made me thankful for where I live!
The show will be held at Twentynine Palms Art Gallery throughout the month of September with an opening reception held Sept. 16th at 6-8pm. As a finalist, I will be participating in the Art Expo as well on Sept. 16 & 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. held at 29 Palms Inn. For more information: http://www.jtnparts.org.
